BLACKPINK Just Became The First K-Pop Artist To Reach #1 On A Coveted Music Chart
As most K-Pop fans should know, BLACKPINK just had their long-awaited comeback with the pre-release song “Pink Venom”.
This came after a nearly 2-year long hiatus, so it isn’t too surprising that it’s already breaking records!
It has become the fastest K-Pop girl group music video to reach 100 million views, reaching that number in just a day. The previous song to reach 100 million the fastest, BLACKPINK’s own “How You Like That”, took about a day and a half to reach it.
Of course, it’s also taking over music charts, and even breaking records for K-Pop artists as a whole!
Earlier, it was reported that they had become the first K-Pop girl group to reach #1 on the global Spotify chart. This chart lists the most-played songs globally at any period of time, which makes it a little difficult for K-Pop to typically rank high on it.

That alone would have been impressive enough, but it turns out that BLACKPINK is actually the only Korean artist to ever reach #1 on this chart!

This is incredible for any K-Pop artist to achieve, and considering BLACKPINK was on hiatus for nearly 2 years, that makes this accomplishment even more impressive!
Congratulations to BLACKPINK, and here’s to more records being broken by them in the near future!
