BLACKPINK’s Upcoming “Born Pink” Has Already Accomplished Something No Other K-Pop Girl Group Album Has
There are about three weeks left until BLACKPINK release their highly anticipated Born Pink album on September 16, and they’re already breaking K-Pop records!
On August 25, YG Entertainment announced that the girl group has made over 2 million pre-sale orders for their second full-length album, even with weeks left until its release.
If this is indeed the case, then BLACKPINK has become the first K-Pop girl group to surpass 2 million pre-orders for an album!
This comes only a couple of days after their pre-release single, “Pink Venom”, came out on August 19, and the same day they released the dance practice for the song.
The album is available in multiple versions — including an LP, a boxed set, a KIT version, digipak versions, and others — which probably also helped BLACKPINK make so many pre-orders.
It will be interesting to see how many more sales the girl group makes in the next three weeks, and after the album is released next month!
