Bangkok’s Governor Promises To Improve Chinatown—All Thanks To BLACKPINK’s Lisa
BLACKPINK‘s Lisa recently made a solo comeback with “ROCKSTAR.”
Bangkok’s governor, Chadchart Sittipunt, talked about her impact with news sources on June 28.
According to Khaosod English, the governor promised to make Yaowarat Road (Bangkok’s Chinatown) “cleaner,” a tough task considering the crowded nature of the area.
He also said that he will work hard to “ensure access to more toilets and improve traffic conditions to welcome more visitors.” This is a direct result of the growing interest in Yaowarat Road as a result of Lisa’s “Rockstar” music video being mainly filmed here.
Chadchart Sittipunt visited the area to inspect what needs to be fixed. He cited parked taxis and “tuk-tuks” as traffic issues that still need be addressed. He will also make sure that hygiene is improved with increased access to rubbish bins and the reduction of the foul smell of sewage water.
Bangkok’s Chinatown has seen a notable increase in visitors ever since the release of “Rockstar” on June 28, with more people visiting the area and posting their experiences on social media.
