BLACKPINK’s Lisa Breaks Her Own Group’s Record For Album Sales
It was revealed recently through the news that BLACKPINK‘s Lisa had broken her own group’s record for first-week album sales, with her first solo album, LALISA. According to Hanteo Charts, she has broken all other past records for first-week sales of Korean Female Artists as well.
It was announced on September 17, 2021, that during the first week of sales dated September 10 to 16, 2021, she had sold a total of 736,221 albums. The previous record for most albums sold by female K-Pop artists in the first-week, was held by BLACKPINK’s first full-length album, THE ALBUM, at 690,000. These numbers do not include sales from a portion of America and Europe due to some administrative rules to do with timing. These rules apply to all artists.
BLACKPINK’s THE ALBUM had also sold over 1 million copies in total beyond the first week of sales, allowing them to become the first ever K-Pop girl group to become a million seller. Fans are anticipating Lisa’s results for “LALISA” as well. Stay tuned!
