BLACKPINK Lisa’s Friend Reveals More Details About Manager J’s ₩1 Billion KRW Scam
BLACKPINK Lisa’s friend has revealed more information about manager J’s actions of scamming ₩1 billion KRW ($817,661 USD) from her.
In an exclusive interview with Sports Chosun, Lisa’s friend shared more details about the relationship between the manager, now identified as “Manager J” and all of BLACKPINK.
Manager J was the manager that BLACKPINK were with even before their debut. He had been in charge of taking care of them after they debuted too. He carefully took care of them when they had to go on their frequent overseas tours.
He was praised as a very kind and sincere person. He was so nice, people called him naive. The BLACKPINK members really relied on him and believed in him. He was the person they believed in the most after Teddy.

However things started to change. Manager J started getting into illegal gambling, and took advantage of the fact that Lisa has no family in Korea, and used her money to pay back his debts.
Manager J started to change. At first, there were issues with what he did. He would frequently visit adult entertainment establishments and overspend on things, getting himself into debt. I heard he even got into illegal online betting. At first, it seemed like he got his hands on a lot of money but once he lost it all, he seemed to get more and more obsessed with gambling.
As his debts grew bigger and bigger, there was no way for him to pay it back, so it seems like he started taking Lisa’s money. The other members have their parents in Korea, but it seems like she was targeted because she came from Thailand. The damage amount is estimated to be more than ₩1 billion KRW.
As the facts became known, an internal investigation and disciplinary action by YG Entertainment started, and he ended up having to quit working for BLACKPINK. After being alone in the company, he was fired after paying back some of the money he took.
Not just Lisa, but all of the BLACKPINK members really relied on manager J. He was the only one they could trust while they were frequently overseas. As much as they believed in him, they felt a great sense of betrayal and their hearts hurt.
