BLACKPINK’s Lisa Reported To Meet Thai Prime Minister Soon
According to recent reports, BLACKPINK’s youngest member, Lisa, is clearing up her schedule for a meeting with Srettha Thavisin, the current Prime Minister of Thailand.
The agenda of the meeting reportedly includes a discussion of Thailand’s soft power strategies. As one of the biggest K-Pop idols in the world, Lisa is one of the most important pop culture figures from Thailand currently. After ending her exclusive individual contract with YG Entertainment this year, the idol has taken some big strides in establishing herself in the global scenario with her own label, LLOUD.
Apart from her successful solo comeback with “Rockstar,” Lisa will also be seen in the third season of HBO‘s The White Lotus, a mega-popular American show. This new season has been filmed extensively in Thailand, and Lisa visited Koh Samui in Surat Thani Province last July. The show is expected to bring in a huge surge of tourists to Thailand when it airs in 2025.
According to a source close to the Thai Prime Minister, the government is aiming to promote film production in the country through favorable measures. Specifically, they plan to increase the rebate from 15-20% to 20-30% for projects over 100 million baht and raise the maximum rebate from 75 million baht to 150 million baht per film.
Needless to say, Lisa’s role in this important national strategy has left fans feeling extremely proud of her achievements.
#LISA is the biggest and most impactful female celebrity in Asia. I hope her positive influence ushers in a new era in thai entertainment and gives thai creatives more global stage. Her Hollywood debut will be one for history books ❤️ https://t.co/384BXbwBow
