On February 25, KST, the Academy announced via its official website that the K-Pop diva will be delivering a special performance during the ceremony together with Doja Cat and RAYE.

Though the three recently collaborated on a single called “Born Again,” they reportedly won’t be performing that song at the ceremony. But the Academy teased that he performance was going to be a “legendary.”

This special performance will make Lisa the first-ever K-Pop artist to perform at the Oscars, cementing her reputation as a global artist even further.

While the news has earned enthusiastic cheers from fans, some netizens also felt that the choice was not well-fitted for an event like the Oscars. Nevertheless, people on both sides are curious to see what kind of a performance the trio delivers.

Meanwhile, the 97th Academy Awards is slated to held on March 3, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
