BLACKPINK Lisa’s “2024 VMAs” Performance Dubbed “Worst” In Vicious Media Reviews
BLACKPINK Lisa‘s recent 2024 VMAs performance hit with vicious reviews by media outlets.
On September 11 (local time), Lisa attended the VMAs.
The idol performed a mashup of her tracks “New Woman” and “Rockstar.”
While fans loved Lisa’s performance, the idol was hit with criticisms after locals (non-K-Pop fans) accused her of lip-syncing throughout.

Although netizens defended Lisa, some media outlets also seemed to have criticism for her performance. When Billboard shared their ranking of all the performances, Lisa was in last place, and while praising her performance skills, they didn’t feel like the performance was impactful.
For many fans, Billboard’s review of Lisa was surprising as they have always praised the idol, and there was even an article just after her performance praising the idol.

While Billboard seemed harsh, the media outlet New York Post did a much more vicious analysis of Lisa’s performance as they also ranked her as one of the worst performances. In their description, they said Lisa was more of a “K-flop” and even wrote how they wondered how the idol had been invited.
After the hype for Lisa’s performance, the reviews seemingly contrasted with a lot of fan sentiments.
