BLACKPINK’s “Lovesick Girls” Joins The Top 3 K-Pop Girl Group MVs To Have The Most Views In One Day
It’s been over a day now since BLACKPINK released their latest music video, “Lovesick Girls”. Along with the music video, of course, they also dropped The Album, which has been breaking record sales left and right!
Whenever BLACKPINK comes out with a new music video, fans flock to stream the new release to help it gain as many views in as short a period of time as possible.
While “Lovesick Girls” didn’t break any records, it did join the top 3 most-viewed K-Pop girl group music videos in the first 24 hours, so it still gained an impressive amount of views in a day!
BLACKPINK does still hold the record for the girl group MV with the most views in a day, which they set earlier this year with “How You Like That”.
The MV gained an incredible 86,377,522 views in the first 24 hours after its June 26 release, which is more than many K-Pop music videos get in months or even years! It’s now up to over 560 million views, and continuing to gain more rapidly every day.
They also earned the 2nd place position earlier this year as well with their song “Ice Cream” featuring Selena Gomez. The summery hit earned 79,676,117 views in a day, which is still a ton.
It’s now up to over 310 million views, which is an impressive amount since its August 27 release!
And now, coming in at 3rd place is “Lovesick Girls”. The song was at 59,813,638 views once it hit the 24 hour mark, so even though it didn’t break their previous records, it’s still a ton of views!
BLACKPINK also holds the 4th place record with “Kill This Love” (56,731,470 views); TWICE‘s “Fancy” takes 5th place (42,152,338); BLACKPINK again with “DDU-DU DDU-DU” in 6th place (36,274,470); and TWICE again with “Yes or Yes” in 7th place (31,403,537). It’s amazing to see how these songs get more and more views as the years go by, proving how K-Pop, and these groups in particular, are getting more popular with each new comeback!
