BLACKPINK Is The First Female K-Pop Act To Enter The Official UK Top 40
The trailblazing super-group BLACKPINK has just achieved what no other female K-Pop act has; they’ve entered the Official UK Top 40!
“Kiss and Make Up”, the first collaboration between BLACKPINK and Dua Lipa, debuted within the Top 40 of the United Kingdom’s Official Singles Chart. This bilingual track took the No. 36 spot for the week ending in November 1.
This is the second time BLACKPINK has broken records by entering this UK chart. For the week ending in June 28, BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” came in at No. 78 on the Official Singles Chart Top 100. This made BLACKPINK the first Korean girl group to ever enter the chart!
It’s very rare for K-Pop acts to enter the UK Official Singles Chart. So rare, in fact, that only two other K-Pop acts have ever done it: PSY and BTS.
