BLACKPINK Paid Respects To The Victims Of The Tragedy In Manchester During Their Performance At The Manchester Arena
On May 21, BLACKPINK continued their world tour by stopping in Manchester and performing at the Manchester Arena, where an Ariana Grande concert was attacked just two years prior. Since those wounds might still be fresh for the victims and friends and family thereof, BLACKPINK made sure to do whatever they could to create an environment in which everyone could enjoy themselves free of any unnecessary triggers. They included a special message that reads as follows:
Blinks, thank you for being with us tonight.
It is a privilege to be performing here in Manchester, especially at this time.
We send our love and prayers to the friends and families who fought through the hard times.
We are here for you.

BLINKs in attendance and watching from social media were deeply touched by BLACKPINK’s thoughtfulness while performing. Some BLINKs in attendance were also in attendance two years ago when tragedy struck, so BLACKPINK’s actions made that much more of an impression on them.
thanks to them i overcame one of my biggest fears and went back to the place the worst moment of my life happened :( i owe everything to them they made me so happy and helped me to completely forget everything that had happened there<3 i love them #BLACKPINKINMANCHESTER pic.twitter.com/ZUZ8QSIoTb

The girls were committed to making sure the show would be as comfortable as possible for everyone by changing the lyrics to “Whistle” from “blow up” to “glow up”…

While these changes may seem small, they demonstrate how dedicated BLACKPINK is to being a socially aware & responsible group that puts their fans first. Their actions give tangible proof to the love and care they feel for their fans.
Our hearts will forever be with the victims of the tragedy in Manchester. #OneLoveManchester
