The Reason Why BLACKPINK’s “Rolling Stone” Cover Is So Meaningful
BLACKPINK are the latest cover stars of Rolling Stone!
In their interview with the magazine, the members spoke about their trainee days, personal struggles, contributions to their music, and more.
While BLINK was happy to see the members in an OT4 magazine photoshoot and to hear from the members in their interview, the
Rolling Stone cover was even more meaningful.
With their new Rolling Stone cover, BLACKPINK became the first girl group to be on the cover of Rolling Stone since 2001. The Spice Girls were the first girl group to be on the magazine’s cover in 1997.
Destiny’s Child became the second girl group and the first Black girl group on the cover of Rolling Stone in 2001.
With their Rolling Stone cover, BLACKPINK became the third girl group ever to be on the magazine’s cover, as well as the first Asian girl group and first K-Pop girl group to be on the cover of Rolling Stone.
Of course, BLINK couldn’t be more proud of the members’ huge achievement!
No because if BLACKPINK will be on the next cover of Rolling Stone, it will be the first girl group since the Spice Girls in 1997 and Destiny’s Child in 2001. After all, BLACKPINK is labeled as the Biggest Girl Group of this generation.
