BLACKPINK’s Rosé Can Never Forget The Time She Was Praised As A Trainee

She also revealed that she remembers the first time she was praised as a trainee.
After passing the YG auditions and moving to Korea alone at 16, she recalls how tough it was for her.
I cried every night and video-called my parents. My dad told me to come back to Australia if it became too hard, but I knew for sure that wasn’t true. I told myself I wouldn’t leave Korea until I achieved my dream of becoming a singer.

When she first left Australia, she recalls many people asking her what she would do.
Many people asked me what I was going to do, and didn’t understand me. I just told them, ‘Wait and see,’ so I couldn’t accept returning without achieving anything. That become my driving force.

She also called herself the “worst trainee” as she lacked confidence while practicing.
“We shared a practice room, and when I lacked confidence, I couldn’t practice as much as I wanted, so I needed time when no one was around so I could do whatever I wanted.
I remember thinking, ‘I practiced well’ after I saw the sunrise at dawn after practice. I thought I was a cool trainee.”

She also never forgot the time she was praised in class.
I still remember the first time I was complimented. Lisa danced so well I thought I should dance like her, so I practiced a lot. Then, the next day after class, the teacher said, ‘Please clap for Lisa and Chaeyoung.’ I thought my dream had come true as my name was called along with Lisa.

Meanwhile, Rosé was reportedly signed by a popular Korean fried chicken brand, but has since denied the claims.
