Latin Music Legend Shakira Showered BLACKPINK’s Rosé With Praise For Her “Waka Waka” Cover
With her sweet and sultry vocals, BLACKPINK‘s Rosé slays every song she sings. And slay was exactly what she did when she recently covered Shakira‘s iconic 2010 FIFA World Cup anthem “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”. Her cover was so good in fact, that even the “Queen of Latin Music” herself absolutely loved it!
Recently appearing as a guest on JTBC‘s Knowing Brothers with her members, Rosé piqued the interest of the entire cast when she revealed her hidden talent for singing like Shakira. This revelation, in turn, led to an utterly epic cover of the anthem.
With her smooth moves and even smoother vocals shining, the only bad thing about her cover was how short it was!
Thoroughly stunning the cast with the cover and leaving fans everywhere cheering for more, clips of her performance immediately went viral and soon enough made their way to Shakira.
Seeing her cover, the legendary singer had nothing but praise for Rosé. Posting a clip of the mini-cover on her Instagram, Twitter, and Weibo, Shakira sent lots of love writing, “Oh wow! I loved seeing you do that! Super cute! Thanks Rosé. P.S. Love your hair!”
Knowing that Shakira not only saw but liked Rosé’s cover, meanwhile, has been giving BLINKs life…
