BLACKPINK And Selena Gomez’s “Ice Cream” Has Hit 400 Million Views
The wildly popular BLACKPINK has just achieved another amazing record! On November 16, around 2 p.m KST, BLACKPINK’s “Ice Cream” with Selena Gomez reached an outstanding number of 400 million views on YouTube.
It seems like it was only yesterday when YG Entertainment hinted at the group’s collaboration with a mystery artist. On August 3, the agency shared a poster image of the BLACKPINK members surrounding the word “featuring” and a question mark symbol. This put fans into a fierce guessing game of who the surprise artist could be.
Later on August 11, Selena Gomez put fans at ease as she officially announced on her Twitter that she is the hidden feature on “Ice Cream.”
Not even three months in from its release date (August 27), the single has already gained 400 million views. BLACKPINK’S “Ice Cream” with Selena Gomez is now their 8th music video to hit 400 million views.
The group’s first music video to obtain this many eyes was “Whistle” and was followed shortly after by “Playing With Fire.” “Kill This Love,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” “BOOMBAYAH,” “As If It’s Your Last,” and “How You Like That.”
The amount of popularity BLACKPINK has gained fascinates not only K-Pop fans but individuals everywhere. The “Ice Cream” music video achievement of 300 million views was only 47 days ago (October 1). It’s clear to see that the views won’t stop anytime soon as their most-watched music video “DDU-Du DDU-DU” currently has 1.3 Billion.
YG Entertainment acknowledged the success and celebrated through several of their social media outlets.
Before “Ice Cream,” BLACKPINK has had several successful collaborations with US artists such as Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga! Fans are excited to see who the group works with next.
