BLACKPINK Explains The Foreshadowing Behind The Music Video References In “Shut Down”
BLACKPINK took the world by storm after they released the music video for their recent title track, “Shut Down.” Fans were praising everything from the powerful music video to the exciting choreography.
But fans were perhaps most emotional over the references BLACKPINK made in “Shut Down” to their earlier music videos. In the music video-making film, BLACKPINK were especially excited for fans to notice all their references. Like Lisa‘s reference to “DDU-DU DDU-DU.”
Lisa: This was for “DDU-DU DDU-DU.” Our BLINKS would know.
Or Rosé‘s reference to their “Whistle” music video.
Rosé: I think it will be fun if fans look at it and go ‘Wow!‘ I’m looking forward to this scene.
Obviously, all the direct references were intentional, and, according to Jisoo, they represent the start of a new era for BLACKPINK.
