Block B’s P.O. Is Officially Discharged From The Marine Corps After Granting His Late Mother’s Wish
Block B member and actor P.O (also known as Pyo Jihoon) returned to his fans after finishing his military duties.
On September 27, P.O officially completed his 1-year and 6-month military service as a sergeant. P.O enlisted on March 28, 2022, where he joined the Marine Corps as a member of the military band.
He announced his discharge on Instagram with a caption expressing what a “happy moment” it was.
Everyone,
Jihoon has finally completed his military service. 🥳🙈😭
It’s admirable and impressive,
Aren’t we all feeling the same way?
A happy moment. 😚— P.O
In June, he surprised his fans by appearing in a video on the National Defense News YouTube channel. He did a short interview and shared updates on his military service as he approached his discharge.
In the video, P.O. shared that the reason he decided to enlist was to grant his late mother’s wish.
[My mother] wanted me to enlist and serve, and I wanted to grant her wish. So I decided to [enlist in the army].

He applied for the Marine Corps three times from when he was 27 until 29 but did not pass because he missed classes in high school due to his debuting while attending school. However, he did not give up and eventually made it into the military band.
Although it wasn’t an easy journey, P.O described his time in the military as an experience that all Korean men should experience at least once.
To me, the Marine Corps was another challenge. It was a time when I gained trust in myself. It was especially tough during training, and there were many difficulties afterward, but I thought that it was a time that all Korean men should experience.
— P.O
He also shared his plans for his activities after discharge, saying that he plans to return to filming K-Dramas and films as an actor. He also expressed his desire to “show good sides of [himself]” as a singer and entertainer.
P.O debuted in Block B in 2011, and he was the last member to enlist in the army. His fellow Block B members have celebrated his return, sparking anticipation for a potential group comeback.
