Fans Alarmed After Boy Group Fail To Acknowledge Anniversary, Sparking Disbandment Fears

Fans have been concerned for a while.

For active K-Pop groups, the anniversary of their debut is usually not ignored. Even inactive or disbanded groups that ended on good terms will sometimes gather to celebrate the occasion.

Recently, a boy group’s lack of acknowledgment of their anniversary only increased concerns over the group’s status.

In September 2012, the boy group 24K debuted under Choeun Entertainment. Throughout the years, the group saw many line-up changes before the current line-up of five was rebranded as 24K+ in November 2023.

According to fans, several worrying issues surrounding the group have sparked fears. For one, member Yuma has been on hiatus since February, and the company has not provided any updates on his status.

The group’s most recent release happened in August 2024, with the group remaining active until around a month ago.

The group’s social media accounts have gone silent, with the most recent update being a video shared from TikTok on November 11, with no mention of their anniversary (November 21). The members of the group have also apparently gone silent on fan chatting platforms, with the members most messages having come before the final social media post.

The most recent messages from member Xiwoo also raised some concerns, with the idol thanking fans for spending their youth with the group and promising to see them again in the future.

  • “Our meeting could have been by chance, or it might have been fate.”
  • “I think the reason you chose me is because you had confidence in me.”
  • “I used to think I received excessive love, but because I worked so hard in return, I want to believe that I’m someone deserving of love.”

  • “I believe we’ll be able to meet again.”
  • “Never lose your smile.”
  • “Thank you for sharing your youth with me.”
  • “Thank you, I’m sorry, and I love you.”

Fans have shared these concerns online, demanding the group’s company give an update, even if it is just to confirm they have disbanded. The group’s fan chatting platform is also still active, and fans believe it is wrong to continue charging under these conditions.
