The Way 5th Generation Boy Group Hid And Lied To Their Manager After Not Going To School
BOYNEXTDOOR debuted in 2023 as one of the first few 5th-generation boy groups. They perfectly embodied the MZ generation with their unique, carefree concept. The boys were just as playful and “misbehaving” when they were trainees! On a recent episode of K-Star Next Door, they shared a story of how they hid from their manager when they didn’t go to school.
They all lived in a dorm with their manager back then. Taesan was still a high schooler, and so was Leehan.
They had to be in school by 8am, but they would often wake up around 10am instead.
They would awaken to the sound of their manager taking a morning shower.
Naturally, the manager would come to check on the boys. There was no where to hide but directly behind the door itself. Taesan reenacted the scene for fans.
When that happened, the manager would ask Seongho if Taesan and Leehan had left for school already. Seongho’s school started later, so he was able to cover for the other boys. According to Seongho, he would always lie to the manager for the boys, even though he was looking right at Taesan standing behind the door!
The boys had great rapport and teamwork even back then!
We were such misbehaving kids. We played hide-and-seek in the dorm with the manager before. So we would wake up in the morning around 10am, even though we had to be in school by 8am. Our manager wakes up around 10am. We would hear the sound of water as the manager was showering. But our room is not one that has hiding spots. So we would stand behind the door like this, and the manager would open the door to check. [Seongho] could go to school later, so the manager would ask him if Taesan and the others went to school already. He would be sleeping like this when the manager opens the door. [Seongho’s] eyes would meet Taesan’s, and he would say that they already left. This is teamwork.
