BOYNEXTDOOR Leehan’s Severely Blistered Lips Leaves Fans Concerned For His Health
It’s no secret that many K-Pop idols are severely overworked, and we’ll likely never know just how much it impacts their health and well-being. So when we do get a look at an idol who is clearly suffering from poor health and seemingly getting little or no treatment for it, it’s understandable that their fans would be outraged.
Recently, rookie idol Leehan of BOYNEXTDOOR has drawn such concern from the group’s fans after an unedited photo was uploaded of him with what appears to be severely swollen, blistered lips.

Many suspect that he may be suffering from type 1 herpes simplex virus (HSV-1), which is spread by oral contact and can often cause cold sores around the mouth. Most adults are actually infected with HSV-1, as it’s not spread by sexual contact, but most are asymptomatic and only have flare-ups caused by certain triggers such as illness, injury, or stress.
Fans suspect that this flare-up for Leehan was caused by the group being over-worked and creating stress for the idol. What’s even more distressing is that there are creams and medications that can be prescribed that help with these kinds of flare-ups, but somehow Leehan still got to this severe state.
Thankfully, it does seem like he’ll be getting a much-needed break. The group’s label, KOZ Entertainment, released a statement regarding Leehan’s health on July 16.

Leehan recently visited the clinic due to skin inflammation and was recommended that he get plenty of rest along with his treatment from the medical staff.
Therefore, Leehan will not be able to participate in the 5th TMEA 2024, Venue101 and The MusiQuest 2024 performances that were scheduled for this week. We ask for your generous understanding as this decision was made for the artist’s treatment and recovery.
The artist is highly determined to participate in all of the group’s engagements; however, his participation will be adjusted based on circumstances, with his health being the top priority as recommended by the medical staff.
We will do our best to aid Leehan so that he can return in full health to his fans as quickly as possible.
