THE BOYZ Will Reportedly Leave IST Entertainment
According to a recent report by TenAsia, THE BOYZ are preparing to leave their current agency IST Entertainment. With their contract set to expire in mid-December, the members have decided not to renew with the Kakao Entertainment subsidiary and are instead exploring new agencies.
The report suggests that THE BOYZ are focusing on finding a new agency that aligns with their musical goals and offers a transparent management system. It is rumored that the group is already in the final stages of discussions with a specific agency. The group is committed to continuing activities together as a full unit.
Under the regulations set by the Korea Entertainment Management Association, artists are allowed to begin talks with new agencies up to three months before their current contracts end. With this window now open, THE BOYZ are legally able to engage in these discussions.
However, it remains unclear whether the group will be able to retain their current name, as the rights to “THE BOYZ” are owned by IST Entertainment. While there is a possibility that IST could permit the use of the name or sell the rights, this is something that will need to be resolved in future negotiations.
In the meantime, THE BOYZ are gearing up for a comeback at the end of October. This will be their first release since March when they dropped PHANTASY Pt.3: Love Letter, featuring the title track “Nectar.” Fans are eager to see what new concept the group will bring after completing their PHANTASY trilogy.
THE BOYZ are also close to wrapping up their third world tour, THE BOYZ WORLD TOUR: ZENERATION II, which kicked off in July at Seoul’s KSPO Dome. The tour, which took them to 15 cities across the Americas, Asia, and Europe, will conclude with a final concert in Osaka, Japan.
