British Rock Legend Sting Shouts Out BTS For Their “I’ll Be Missing You” Cover
On July 27, BTS received praise from yet another one of music’s greats: Sting! Known best for his roles as the lead singer, bassist, and songwriter for the iconic British rock band The Police, Sting has been a big name in the industry for decades.
Sting originally wrote the song “Every Breath You Take” which was famously sampled by Faith Evans and Puff Daddy in their track “I’ll Be Missing You” featuring R&B group 112. Then, BTS added their own twist during their cover on BBC Radio‘s Live Lounge by adding Korean lyrics to the rap sections!
Sting was quite impressed by their rendition, tweeting out a link to their performance as well as a ton of clapping emojis:

You have to realize that Elton John and Sting are living legends. BTS getting praised and acknowledged by rock royalty who have been around for decades, that is what you called a recognition. pic.twitter.com/lJWBiM6czT
