Meet Nick Joseph, The New HYBE Choreographer Behind BTS’s 3J “Butter” Dance
HYBE is all about bringing the world’s top talent on board, and one of the agency’s latest additions is Nick Joseph.
Nick Joseph is the choreographer behind BTS‘s new dance video, a special performance of the “Butter” Megan Thee Stallion remix starring 3J (J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook). In less than an hour, the video racked up over 1 million views, and fans have nothing but praise for 3J’s powerful and detailed dance.
On August 2, Nick announced that he would be moving to Korea for work for about half a year. At the time, he couldn’t quite believe his reality was, well, real.
Life update (1/2): Gonna be living in Korea for the next 5-6 months doing some Kpop work out there. Initially when the proposition was brought up to me, I was in denial haha. I did that thing we all do…deny our creative value because we tend to adopt this imposter syndrome mindset that says, “I don’t know if I deserve this.”. Along with that is the new experience of being away from home for a really long time. Y’all the longest I’ve been away from home is like 2 weeks LOL.

After he arrived and entered quarantine (a mandatory requirement for travelers), Nick posted a video of himself dancing. This is just a small taste of what this thriving dance genius has to offer.
It wasn’t until late August that Nick shared a photo of his new “home base”: HYBE, the agency behind BTS, TXT, ENHYPEN, and many more. Nick previously choreographed the dance for ENHYPEN’s comeback single “Drunk-Dazed.”
Today, Nick posted about what it was like to work with 3J.
It’s already a crazy experience being here in Korea doing work with Hybe, but being able to personally work with 3/7 of BTS and choreograph this routine for them is extremely wild! It really hasn’t hit me yet but what a blessing my time here has been already!

He has nothing but praise for this dance unit’s skills, work ethic, and dedication. 3J made Nick feel welcome and entertained him with their “hella funny” personalities.
In regards to these 3, I truly admire 3J’s work ethic as well as their unique distinct personalities 😂 (super welcoming and hella funny!) and their extreme dedication to what they do. They do not settle whatsoever! Multiple rehearsals, run-throughs, and notes all to make sure they perform at their best, and they killed it! I am very appreciative of their efforts and care🙏🏾. This was an all around rewarding experience creating for them and working with the other performance directors and film crew! Still got quite some time left here, so I’m looking forward to whatever else may come. :) 감사하다!

We’re hoping to see more HYBE x Nick Joseph collabs in the future!
