BTS’s “Love Yourself: Answer” Is The First Korean Album To Achieve This In The US
BTS’s 2018 album, Love Yourself: Answer, has set two incredible chart records this week!
On August 20, Billboard released their latest update for the “Billboard 200” chart. This weekly chart ranks the 200 most popular albums in the US. According to Billboard, the ranking is based on “multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units”. In August 2018, Love Yourself: Answer entered the “Billboard 200” chart at No. 1. It was BTS’s second album to lead the chart, after Love Yourself: Tear.
Now, ranking at No. 112, Love Yourself: Answer is making history by spending its 50th week on the “Billboard 200”. It is BTS’s longest-running album on the chart, and the first Korean album ever to stay on the chart for 50 weeks.
BTS’s Love Yourself: Her has spent 44 weeks on the chart, and Love Yourself: Tear has charted for 15 weeks.
BTS has also become the first Korean artist ever to have three albums charting on the “Billboard 200” at once. The BTS WORLD OST and Map of the Soul: Persona are also charting this week, at No. 52 and No. 118, respectively.
