BTS Becomes First Korean Act To Receive Award Nomination From The BRIT Awards
BTS continues to make history as they have officially become the first Korean act ever to be nominated for an award by The BRITs (British Record Industry Trusts Show).
The BRIT Awards is the British Phonographic Industry‘s annual music awards and is also one of the biggest award shows in the United Kingdom. BTS has been nominated in the “International Group” category at the 2021 BRIT Awards. They are nominated along with American music artists, such as pop-rock band HAIM, rock band Foo Fighters, and hip hop duo Run The Jewels. The Irish post-punk revival band Fontaines D.C. is also nominated.

This is not the first time BTS has made history, becoming the first Korean act to be nominated at a major international award show. This year, they also became the first K-Pop group to be nominated for a GRAMMY award. They received a nomination for “Dynamite” in the “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards.

The BRIT Awards is usually held in February, but it has been postponed to May 11. It will be broadcast live on ITV with comedian Jack Whitehall hosting.
