The Choreographer Behind BTS’s 3J “Butter” Dance Chooses The Member Who Picks Up Choreo The Fastest
The choreographer behind several HYBE artists’ dances recently chose the BTS member who picks up choreography the fastest.
Dancer Nick Joseph recently left Korea where he was working for several months as a choreographer.
In a video with STEEZY, an online platform for dance classes, Nick Joseph spoke to Clay Boonthanakit, the company’s Director of Video, about what his experience was like.
Nick worked with 3J (J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook) to choreograph BTS’s “Butter (feat. Megan Thee Stallion)” special performance video. He previously shared what it was like to work with the group.
Nick explained that the choreography went through several versions before one was finally landed on. When he sent the final version to 3J, he says they were nervous at first, but they all learned the dance very quickly.
That’s like a over-arching thing with K-Pop idols … they all learn super duper fast.
When asked who learns the fastest though, Nick chose J-Hope.
Nick explained, “The three of them all have super different personalities, so [J-Hope] was super, like, on it.”
Nick also said that Jungkook was also “on it,” but appeared more nervous, questioning whether he was doing the choreography right. Nick made sure to reassure him.
Whereas Jimin was the “funny guy.” Whenever they would have a break, Jimin would lie on the floor and say that he’s tired. Of course, Nick didn’t mind because he was “killing it.”
Overall, Nick only had positive things to say about working with the group. His choreography is super fun, and 3J absolutely nailed the style he was going for.
