BTS Chooses The Most Memorable Moments Of Their Career So Far
BTS reflected on the past nine years of their career and named some of their favorite moments so far in an interview with Spotify.
During the interview, the members were asked what the most memorable moments of their careers have been so far. Of course, the members had thoughtful answers ready.
Jungkook and RM were the first to answer, and he shared that their concerts have been the most memorable. Specifically for RM, their first performance at Olympic Gymnastics Arena (also known as KSPO Dome).
The KSPO Dome has a capacity of 15,000 people. BTS held their first concert in the venue on their The Most Beautiful Moment in Life On Stage Tour. They played the venue in an extension of the tour titled, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life On Stage: Epilogue.
The members of BTS have previously shared that performing at the KSPO Dome had been one of their two major goals. The other was to win a first-place trophy on a music show, which they accomplished on May 5, 2015, when they won their first number-one win on SBS‘s The Show.
Suga shared that his most memorable moment was when their song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time. The acheived this feat with their first English song, “Dynamite.” According to Billboard, “[Dynamite] not only became the first song by a South Korean act to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100, it also broke records on Billboard’s Global charts and Digital Song Sales chart.”
BTS also reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their songs “Butter,” Life Goes On,” “Permission to Dance,” Jawsh 685, Jason Derulo and BTS’s, “Savage Love,” and Coldplay and BTS’s “My Universe.”
Finally, BTS’s Jin weighed in and revealed his most memorable moment was when BTS won “Artist of the Year” for the first time.
Of course, BTS has now won this award many times. They won “Artist of the Year” at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (also known as the MAMAs) in 2016, where RM said in BTS’s acceptance speech, “We went through a lot since we debuted, there were people who said we wouldn’t make it. Thank you so much for believing in us until the end.”
They proceeded to win the award every year since at the MAMAs. They have also won “Artist of the Year” at the Genie Music Awards, Melon Music Awards and Asia Artist Awards, to name a few. They were also the first Asian artists to win “Artist of the Year” at the American Music Awards (also known as the AMAs) in 2021.
