BTS Receive Shoutout From CW & DC Comics’ “Naomi”
Spoiler Alert
BTS keep making unexpectant cameos on TV, from the latest K-Dramas, such as Sh**ting Stars, Love All Play, My Liberation Notes, Our Blues, and Business Proposal, to even Western series like Emily in Paris and The Neighborhood.
Now, the latest TV series to feature BTS is the CW drama Naomi.
Naomi is an American superhero drama created by award-winning director and producer Ava DuVernay and Jill Blankenship. The drama is adapted from the DC Comics series of the same name. It recently premiered on January 11, 2022, with Kaci Walfall starring as the titular character Naomi McDuffie.
Naomi McDuffie is a comic book-loving teenager and the host of a Superman fan website. After a supernatural event occurs in Port Oswego, Oregon, Naomi sets out to determine its origins with help from her best friend, her supporting adoptive parents, and a tattoo shop owner with a secret origin.

In a recent episode, Naomi’s best friend Annabelle Peters (Mary-Charles Jones) attempts to bribe her 10-year-old sister Sophie (Rileigh Eames) to secrecy. Sophie talks her up in fee, explaining that she will need a lot more money to score BTS tickets but not just any tickets. She refuses to settle for mezzanine!

Naomi is not the only DC show to reference BTS. Previously, Batwoman contained a subtle reference.
“I refuse to listen to a boy band sing about condiments for two hours.”
yes, BTS is canon in Gotham and Mary is ARMY who plays Butter on repeat to Alice. 😝🧈 #Batwoman @BTS_twt pic.twitter.com/mpjh6hX4WL

Likewise, while set in two different universes, John Cena‘s Peacemaker also contains a moment that makes BTS canon in the DC Extended Universe. BTS are also canon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Read more below:
