BTS’s “Dynamite” Is Now The Most-Watched K-Pop MV In The First 24 Hours
Good job, ARMYs — BTS‘s latest single, “Dynamite”, has achieved the goal of becoming the most-watched K-Pop music video in its first 24 hours after release!
While ARMYs tried their best to get the video to 100 million views in the first day, unfortunately they did miss that mark, but only slightly.
With the massive amount of streaming that fans around the globe went through, the video still hit an incredibly impressive view count — 98.3 million views.
While it may be frustrating to some that fans weren’t able to get to 100 million by just over a million views, it’s still an incredible accomplishment that shows the dedication of BTS’s fanbase!
The previous record-holder was BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That”, which just recently in its June release had created the impressive and intimidating record of 86.3 million views in the first 24 hours. BTS’s music video beat it by 12 million views, though, which is a crazy amount!
In fact, they broke the record in a little over 20 hours after “Dynamite” came out. The music video was released at 1 p.m. KST, and by 9:35 a.m. KST, it had gained 86.4 million views.
The music video also hit the #1 trending spot globally on YouTube within the first 12 hours of being released. It also now holds the record for the most-watched YouTube Premiere, with over 3 million people watching at its release.
Now, fans have BTS’s VMAs performance to look forward to, which will be their first time performing “Dynamite” live! It will air on August 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
