BTS Has Officially Become The 2nd Best-Selling Artist On The Planet
Within the last two days, BTS have won over 10 awards, attended 3 major events, and now they’ve been named the second best-selling artist of 2018!
On February 26, International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) released their annual list of the world’s top ten artists, which “reflect the global appeal of music”. The “Global Recording Artist of the Year” title is presented to honor the most popular recording artist based on a total of album-equivalent units, which include music downloads, streaming, and physical format sales. BTS were second only to Drake, whose global hits include “God’s Plan,” “Nice for What”, and “In My Feelings.”
To achieve this, BTS had to surpass, Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, Eminem, Queen, Imagine Dragons, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, and Bruno Mars, who claimed the 3rd to 10th spots respectively.
