BTS’s J-Hope Responds To Being Asked To Speak English During Live Broadcast
BTS‘s J-Hope responded to being asked to speak English, and the influx of comments sparked criticism from fans.
On November 12 (KST), J-Hope did a live broadcast for fans while he is still in the US.
During the broadcast, J-Hope read a comment, “Please English,” which is something that many idols see when doing lives as international fans are hoping to understand and communicate with them. The idol initially responded in Korean saying he can’t speak English very well.
In English, the idol then explained, “I can’t speak English very well, so I am sorry.”
While netizens thought J-Hope was being adorable, many fans hit back at the comments asking the idol to speak English. Idols do try and speak to international viewers, but fans hate when fans think they’re obliged when it isn’t their first language and it is an unwritten rule among fans not to ask, so ARMYs were angry J-Hope is receiving them.
