Eagle-Eyed ARMYs Notice That BTS’s Jimin Made An Unexpected Cameo At The 2022 Beijing Olympics
Although sports and K-Pop are two industries you never thought would mix, except maybe in the case of the much-loved Idol Star Athletics Championships, it seems as if they are being linked together more and more.
In particular, this year’s 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics seems to have seen a rise in K-Pop, even if it’s in the subtlest ways. It recently happened again after BTS‘s Jimin made an unexpected cameo during one of the events.
On February 14, eagle-eyed ARMYs watching the curling event noticed something during one of the events, and it was all to do with the Japanese athlete Kotomi Ishizaki!
During the event, Kotomi Ishizaki was sat on the sides. When they are not competing, the curlers can be seen writing down notes. ARMYs aren’t called detectives for no reason because their ability to spot the smallest details shouldn’t be underestimated.
Viewers of the event noticed that there was something unique about Ishizaki’s notebook that she was writing in, and it was because it had a sticker of Jimin on it!
When it is pointed out, it is clear to see the sticker of Jimin from the “Dynamite” era, wearing the white and green bomber jacket with blue jeans. Like every time BTS releases a new music video, Jimin looked amazing, embodying the theme and feel of the track.
Of course, when it was first shared on social media, ARMYs couldn’t get enough of the fact that world-class athletes were showcasing their love for the group in one of the biggest events of the year.

Yet, it seems as if it wasn’t just a single example of Kotomi Ishizaki showcasing her ARMY status. In a photo posted on the official Japanese curling team’s Instagram, she was seen having a Jimin McDonald’s character keyring attached to her bag.
Yet, it isn’t the first time K-Pop stars have made unexpected cameos in this year’s Olympics.
TWICE‘s Tzuyu went viral after a commentator from SBS introduced speed skater Kim Min Seok as “Kim Min Seok athlete, who has the same birthday as TWICE’s “Tzuyu.” It is because both Tzuyu and Min Seok were born on June 14, 1999, making them birthdate twins.
BLACKPINK’s Rosé was also mentioned when the figure skater Cha Jun Hwan named the idol his ideal type.
It seems like as time goes on, K-Pop is finding its way into everyday life as more people embrace the industry and share their love for the idols. You can read more about unexpected cameos from K-Pop idols at the Olympics below.
