BTS’s Jimin Solidifies His “King Of iTunes” Status With New Historic Record

The first and only artist in the world…

Even before making his official debut as a soloist, BTS’s Jimin had proved himself an indomitable force on iTunes, the globally popular music purchasing platform by Apple.

Some of Jimin’s previous records on the platform include the fastest song to hit #1 in 100 countries. He achieved this feat with the K-Drama OST “With You,” which he sang along with Ha Sung Woon. This achievement was also based on real-time purchases, with no pre-orders.

Amazingly, Jimin also holds the second and third spot on this very achievement’s list, with “Set Me Free Pt.2” and “Like Crazy,” respectively.

The iTunes store is available in 119 regions, and Jimin is the only artist in the world who has earned #1 on the all-genre song chart in all of those regions. In fact, he did it twice, first with “With You” and then with “Like Crazy.”

Among all Korean soloists, Jimin has the highest number of songs that have achieved #1 in over 100 countries.

Jimin’s solo track “Filter” from BTS’s album Map Of The Soul: 7 was also the B-side track with the most #1s in the history of iTunes, but the song broke its own record on October 15 after charting at #1 on the all-genre chart of Germany. Now, “Filter” has earned #1 positions in 118 countries on iTunes and has attained another unique record for Jimin.

With this latest #1 position, Jimin has become the first and the only artist in the world to have three songs reach #1 on iTunes across at least 118 countries!

With only one country left for “Filter” to achieve another iTunes “All-Kill” and make Jimin the artist with three songs to reach #1 on iTunes globally, the BTS member is already on his way to making history again!
