Jimin Reveals What He Thinks About BTS Trying New Musical Styles And Concepts
In a recent interview with Weverse Magazine, Jimin revealed the pros and cons of releasing new types of music and performances. BTS, known for their precise choreography and powerful performances, took a different and more accessible route when creating “Permission to Dance.”
He revealed there’s always a risk of not accurately conveying the concept or emotions when trying new styles. Luckily, it felt natural for the members and, as a result, was well-received by fans.
At first I was worried whether the feelings we were trying to convey in the songs would get across to people since we’d never tried songs in those styles before, but after giving the performances a shot, we found out they’re really fun and easy for us to follow along to, too. So I thought it should be easy enough for people to approach these songs, thankfully.

Typically, Jimin plays up his performance according to the concept, but this time he went with a more natural feeling to show his true emotions that come from performing a hopeful and positive song.
I think I just followed my heart. Before, there’d be some kind of concept, and I wanted to show off something about myself in that context, but lately I’ve just been following my heart, following the feeling of conveying the feelings I want to share with others.

Because of this, fans were able to connect with the music and showed BTS immense love throughout a difficult time. Read more below how BTS’s success felt too good to be true for Jimin.
