BTS’s Jimin’s “Promise” Breaks SoundCloud’s 24-Hour Debut Record
He broke Drake’s record.
BTS Jimin‘s first self-composed solo track, “Promise” has officially broken the record of most streams ever in the first 24 hours on SoundCloud!
Jimin announced the track’s release on December 31, 2018. Ever since then, “Promise” has been receiving love from fans, celebrities, and news outlets around the world.
In its first 24 hours, “Promise” was streamed a staggering 8.5 million times. The previous record holder was Drake‘s “Duppy Freestyle”, with 4.9 million streams.
“Promise” held on to the #1 spot on both the “SoundCloud Top 50” and “New & Hot” charts for 48 hours following the drop across all countries. Within 72 hours, it received more than 15 million plays!
It currently now has over 16 million views.
