Despite being besties today, they are responsible for the most infamous fight in the group’s history, known as the “dumpling incident.” It’s been mentioned many times throughout the years, and based on the members’ brief mentions, it was very impactful at the time.

The dumpling incident even inspired two songs, “Friends” and “4 O’Clock.” While talking about their collaboration, they gave some backstory.

Jimin and V sort of “recreated” it during their performance of “Friends” for 2020 BANGBANGCON.

To this day, ARMYs have not ever heard the entire story. Over the years, the members have revealed pieces.

In 2020, V responded to an ARMY’s post on Weverse asking, “Taehyung or Jimin, please explain the dumpling incident to us!” He gave a very brief synopsis.

It was Team Eat-After-Dancing vs Team Eat-While-Dancingㅋㅋ

Later, V summarized the dumpling incident during a solo live broadcast. He explained that he and Jimin had fought, which resulted in them not speaking to each other for two days.

Jimin once shared his side of the story during a live broadcast. He claimed he couldn’t reveal the whole story, but it’s a very “important” problem.

In another live broadcast, Jimin explained that he would have to include V in retelling the story since it involves him. After all, there are always two sides to a story.

No, I can’t tell you because hyung and I are 50/50 shareholders, so I need his permission. *laughs *

Yet, Jimin revealed a little more to the story while reminiscing with Jungkook during their Disney+ travel show Are You Sure?!.

In Episode 6, the duo visited Sapporo, Japan, for an “epic food tour.” Near the end of the episode, Jimin and Jungkook went out to eat curry. As they enjoyed their meal, they began to reflect on the past.

I don’t know why my body shook so much when I was angry back then. I guess I wasn’t good at hiding my emotions.

— Jimin

Jimin revealed that he saw V laughing and mocking him on the steps, which set him off. However, he revealed that he and Jimin were finally able to get close after this infamous incident.

I could see from behind that V was laughing on the stairs. I could see he was going like this. I couldn’t take it. That was when I lost it when I saw the back of his head mocking me. It took a long time for me and V to get this close. We got closer after that big fight.

ARMYs are continuing to piece together fragments of the dumpling incident, slowly starting to understand what really happened.
