BTS’s Jimin Worries He Was “Too Inexperienced” To Speak At The White House

He updated ARMY with a personal letter.

BTS‘s Jimin returned to South Korea and Weverse with an update.

On June 2 (KST), Jimin returned to South Korea from Washington D.C., the U.S. capital, after BTS visited The White House. The group spoke on anti-Asian hate crimes, the importance of Asian inclusion, and more at Press Secretary KarineJean-Pierre‘s press briefing and in a private meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden. Following their return, Jimin updated ARMY with a sincere letter via Weverse.

ARMYs, it’s Jimin. Have you all been well?

Jimin reflected on BTS’s recent trip to the United States. He felt “grateful and honored” to speak at The White House, especially as a representative of the diverse fanbase.

We’ve come back after visiting the US. I’m sure you all know what event we went to attend. I am grateful and honored that thanks to the diverse races, nationalities, and cultures of ARMYs, we were able to attend the event as your representatives and raise our voices.

— Jimin

Still, Jimin worried that he was “too inexperienced.” In Jimin’s post, he used “미숙,” meaning immaturity in terms of “lack of social experience” rather than “mental” immaturity.

However, I wondered if I was still too inexperienced to attend as your representative.

I’ve felt apologetic for causing you to worry due to my immaturity. From now on, I will do my best to become a more mature version of myself so that you won’t have to worry anymore.

Yet, Jimin has time and time again proved himself to be quite experienced and more than deserving of his platform! Along with the rest of BTS, he was appointed “Special Presidential Envoys for Future Generations and Culture” last year and has spoken at the United Nations on numerous occasions, among other prestigious events.

In fact, Jimin has actually been praised for speaking in his native language, as well as for how mature and respectful he was throughout his visit to The White House. At one particular moment, as he left the stage, the idol bowed to the press on his way out, including one arm across his body before bowing.

So, actually, ARMYs are all more than proud of Jimin!

You were probably concerned because I haven’t been visiting often these days. I’ll come by more often.

I always miss you, ARMY.
