On October 17, BTS‘s Jin welcomed J-Hope home from his mandatory service. Although their reunion had many memorable moments, one particular detail is now sparking fan theories.

Like a K-Drama CEO, Jin arrived in style, dressed in a striking burgundy suit and statement sunglasses. However, his outfit paled in comparison to this enormous bouquet.

The size of the bouquet isn’t too surprising, given Jin’s history of giving his members eye-catching–and often unusual–gifts. But the bouquet’s size and Jin’s thoughtfulness aren’t the only reasons why the bouquet is attracting attention. Some hawk-eyed ARMYs were quick to make a connection that the general public would likely miss.

The blue flowers in Jin’s bouquet closely resemble the smeraldo flower. These fictional flowers from the fictional BTS Universe first bloomed during BTS’s HYYH era and have since become a major symbol in the BTS Universe.

Two years after making its last post, the smeraldo flower Instagram account unexpectedly posted this story on October 16.

At the time, some ARMYs theorized that the smeraldo flower story could be connected to Jin’s upcoming Happy solo album or a BTS group comeback. This was not long before J-Hope’s discharge from the military.

Given the timing, Jin might be the customer the smeraldo flower shop hinted at. If so, was his purchase purely connected to J-Hope’s return from the military, or is it hinting at a new project? A Jin and J-Hope HYYH-themed collaboration perhaps?
