BTS’s Jin Calls Out Mnet For “Scamming” Him
BTS‘s Jin guested on the last episode of KStarNextDoor4, hosted by Jonathan.
Jonathan took Jin on a trip down memory lane, reminding him about when BTS made flyers to promote their performance. Jin remembered that it was about two years after BTS’s debut.
Jin reflected, “Two years? I was scammed,” shocking Jonathan. He referred to Mnet as a “scammer,” revealing that he had only been told that the group was visiting the U.S. to work on music, not film the reality show American Hustle Life.
I was told we were going to work on music in the US. Then all of a sudden, Mnet… Right. It was this place. The scammer. I went there with Mnet. Okay. All of a sudden, they said it was the beginning of American Hustle Life.

Jonathan had initially mentioned it only to highlight that while BTS might be worldwide famous now, they started from the bottom.
American Hustle Life is an iconic part of BTS history. The members traveled to Los Angeles to learn more about hip-hop, but, in true variety show fashion, they were “kidnapped” before it was revealed to be a prank.
