BTS’s Jin Has No Plans To Retire Anytime Soon, But He Already Has A Dream For When He Does
Despite technically being on vacation right now, it seems like BTS is busier than ever!
During the group’s reality series BTS In the SOOP 2, Jin especially mastered the art of relaxation. He even shared words of wisdom on the importance of rest.

So, during his new interview with GQ for their special edition feature of BTS, they highlighted this as this clip went viral online. As a result, they asked the master of rest, “If you were granted a month of rest, how would you spend it?”
That precious time spent with the rest of the group during In the SOOP was enough for Jin. He revealed that he wouldn’t want to spend an entire month of free time.
Just thinking about it makes me happy. [laughs] But I don’t think I’d spend that much time resting.
— Jin
He explained that because of COVID-19, he and the rest of the group all unexpectantly got much more extended vacations than they had ever hoped for. After two weeks, they became restless.
We endured two months of forced rest due to the pandemic. Initially we all rejoiced at the prospect of unexpected rest, yet that feeling lasted exactly two weeks. We were all struggling after just a month of rest.
— Jin
Jin has a great work ethic, so even if he were given a full month to “rest,” he would find ways to keep busy. He imagined either working on music or even farming!
We felt anxious and wondered if it was okay to keep resting like that. So if I had to rest for a month, I’d probably work on my music here and there. Maybe I’d do some farming or find something else to do to pass the time.
— Jin
The interviewer was surprised to hear Jin talk of farming. And, while Jin has no plans to retire anytime soon, this city boy revealed that he dreams of quiet life in the countryside when he does one day retire.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, but when I retire far, far in the future, I think it would be nice to live in a quiet country village.
— Jin
Still, some things would never change. This includes his love of food and friends, so he hopes to host some small get-togethers then too.
I’d have a BBQ on the rooftop to host gatherings now and then, as well as a tent in the garden. I’ve been wondering what that would be like.
— Jin
Jin is such a skilled fisher now; we imagine that he would be just as good of a farmer!
