BTS’s Jungkook Finally Squares Up With Famous Boxer Choo Sung Hoon After His Sparring Invitation
All of the BTS members are full of so much talent that goes outside the realms of their idol activities. In particular, since the members created their own Instagram accounts, the members have been showcasing their skills and hobbies to ARMYs worldwide.
One person who has never been afraid to share his talents with the world is the youngest member Jungkook.
Over the past few months, Jungkook has wowed ARMYs by sharing footage of his boxing training, and he’s gone viral countless times as the internet has been sent into meltdown.
Even when the group has traveled abroad for their PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE shows, ARMYs made sure to show their love for the member’s talent. While the members were chatting, the camera panned onto one ARMY who had a sign saying, “JK! let’s have a boxing match.“
Even the other members have wanted a shot at Jungook, including BTS’s V, who posted, “Let’s do some sparring soon,” as it seemed like he wanted to practice his own skills on Jungkook… yet, as the older member, J-Hope rightly urged caution, replying, “Will you be fine? Hahahahahaha.”
Yet, if J-Hope wanted to warn V against it, it was too late as Jungkook replied to the thread with, “Come on in (and let’s fight).”
His skills were so impressive that in April, fans were startled to discover a comment from a famous martial artist, Choo Sung Hoon. Choo Sung Hoon had invited Jungkook to a sparring session!
Choo Sung Hoon is an accoladed boxer, wrestler, and mixed martial artist. While he has won multiple awards for his skills, he is more well-known to K-Content fans as Choo Sa Rang‘s father from Return Of Superman.
In the comments under the video posted by Jungkook’s coach Tommy, Choo Sung Hoon replied, “Please tell him for me that we should have a sparring session next time. ^__^.”
Considering the size of Choo Sung Hoon, K-ARMYs began to call to save Jungkook. As it has not been long since Jungkook started boxing, fans know him as a “boxing puppy.” They asked Choo Sung Hoon to go easy on the star.
- “Even if he’s a boxing puppy, he’s still a baby puppy… Sarang’s daddy, please go easy on him.”
- “Save our boxing puppy, LOL.”
- “He’s a 26-month-old baby…”
- “Our boxing puppy is strong, but… Jungkookie is a baby, so…”
Unfortunately, it seems like their calls to protect the group’s youngest member didn’t exactly work out as, two months after the initial invitation, it seems like Jungkook accepted Choo Sung Hoon’s request.
On June 29 (KST), Choo Hung Soon posted a picture with an adorable-looking Jungkook (with pineapple hair) and the caption was a lot of purple hearts.

Unsurprisingly, people started to assume that it meant Jungkook and Choo Sung Hoon had their sparring session, and they were definitely right. Not even a minute later, the boxer posted a video on his Twitter with the caption, “Nice fight” and purple hearts.
In the video, Jungkook was dressed in his boxing gear and after squaring up, Choo Sung Hoon went to hug Jungkook.
As Jungkook and Choo Sung Hoon went to catch their breath, another trainer was clapping as he said, “Jungkook, you did well.”
When the tweet was shared, netizens couldn’t stop gushing about seeing Jungkook square up with one of the most bad-ass men in boxing. They also couldn’t get over just how cute the idol looked with his hair and helmet.
As expected, despite being a true idol, Jungkook has proved that he can hold his own with some of the toughest men in Korea. It’s also nice to see the idol improving his skills and having some time to do things he wants to, including boxing.
