BTS’s Jungkook Has Deleted More Of His Original Songs Than He Has Released
During BTS‘s 9th-anniversary celebration event 2022 FESTA Dinner Party, the members shocked ARMYs by announcing their “hiatus.” The members will focus on self-growth during the period, releasing their own solo music.
J-Hope told me this before. We could focus on our solo work this time, and later, when we gather again as a group, that synergy will be like no other. We’ll be better than before.

While it may seem strange and new for a lot of us right now, BTS’s maknae Jungkook impressed everyone with his mature outlook on the new chapter.
Jungkook is also reportedly one of the first three to release a solo album, following Suga and J-Hope. During the dinner, they released some small details…
Jungkook’s gonna have a FULL album!! Maybe like 9-12 songs!! All the songs he’s been working so incredibly hard on these last few years, we’ll finally FINALLY bless our ears with his masterpieces!!! HIS FIRST #1 on HOT 100 as a solo artist! pic.twitter.com/jD5waWILGV

Namjoon brought up how it’s late for them to be releasing their solo albums now and Jungkook kept confirming “yes it’s really late.” Makes you wonder how long he’s been itching to release his album to the world pic.twitter.com/xLeyiQNvlK

The day after the announcement, Weverse Magazine released an individual interview with Jungkook to discuss BTS’s new album Proof, his English skills, The GRAMMYs, and more. He also touched on his own original solo music. While he has released the occasional solo song here and there, he has yet to release a mixtape.
During the interview, Jungkook revealed his perfectionistic side. So, they discussed reshooting the 3J (J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook sub-unit) dance video for Megan Thee Stallion‘s “Butter” remix.
…we shot the video but every time there was always one or two spots where we were out of step. We kept filming it, even as we thought it wasn’t working as it was, but even after we finished we couldn’t shake the feeling it wasn’t quite right, so we practiced again at the end of the day and shot it again.

Interviewer Myungseok Kang then asked, “Isn’t it difficult releasing something when you had to work at it until you were personally satisfied? Like how someone might hesitate to release a song they’ve written?” He connected it to writing music.
Jungkook agreed that it is all similar. He revealed that he has already worked on a lot of music but has not been able to bring himself to release any of it.
That’s why there’s so many songs I’ve written that I haven’t been able to release.
— Jungkook
Unfortunately, Junkook also divulged that he had deleted many songs. When so unsatisfied with them, he just opts to get rid of them completely rather than continue editing.
After making the effort to write them, I should have realized I should just edit them as much as I can and release them, but when I heard them again after a while, they didn’t sound good, so I just deleted them all.

Myungseok Kang was disappointed to hear it, commenting, “Ah … What a shame.” Jungkook responded, explaining, “I’ve been that way for a very long time.”
His fellow BTS members are trying to get him to change, though. They are encouraging him to release music as that way, he will have growth. So, he is taking their advice.
The other members tell me, ‘You have to keep making releases. That’s how you figure it all out.’ So I’m writing songs lately.

We can certainly look forward to new music from Jungkook soon.
