BTS’s Jungkook Explains Why His Piercings Have Changed
BTS is kicking open doors for the next generation of K-Pop artists in more ways than one. In addition to breaking records and topping charts, Jungkook is changing the public’s perception about body art.
Both tattoos and piercings have a long history of being associated with delinquency and rebellion. Although Jungkook played the part of a “smooth criminal,” for BTS’s song “Butter,” he’s a model citizen and strives to be a good role model for others.
Over the past few years, Jungkook has added new ink and new body jewelry to himself, including eyebrow and lip piercings.
His ears, however, have been pierced since his debut.
Jungkook hasn’t talked much about his tattoos, but he did address a fan’s question about his piercings during his latest live broadcast.
Jungkook explained that the loss of two of his earrings wasn’t intentional. “I didn’t change them,” he said. “They just fell out. They fall out a lot when we perform on stage.”
Jungkook also assured ARMY that losing earrings while dancing hasn’t caused him any pain. “It didn’t hurt at all,” he said. “It should have hurt with that much impact. But anyway, I didn’t do that on purpose.”
