BTS Makes History Again With The Highest Placement On Yet Another Billboard Chart
BTS‘s “Dynamite” has been an absolute smash hit for both K-Pop as well as the music industry as a whole. From reaching the top of numerous music charts, to breaking YouTube view records, and all kinds of other achievements, this song has taken the world by storm.
And even over 2 months since it’s August 20, 2020 release date, it’s continuing to reach new heights!
On Monday, November 11, Billboard announced that the all-English song would jump up from #11 on the Pop Songs radio chart to #9 this week, making it BTS’s first song to reach the top 10 on this coveted chart!
Previously, their record was at #22 for “Boy With Luv” on this list.
Not only that, but this also makes “Dynamite” the highest-charting song by any K-Pop artist on the Pop Songs chart! The previous record was by PSY with “Gangnam Style”, which placed at #10 in 2012.
The songs on the chart are determined by total weekly plays of top 40 songs on about 160 mainstream radio stations in the U.S. Given how difficult it’s been in the past for songs by K-Pop artists to even make it on American radio, this is a huge deal!
