BTS Has Been Nominated For The MTV Movie & TV Awards
BTS has been revealed to be nominated for an award at the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards!
One of the group’s documentaries, Break the Silence: The Movie, has been nominated for the Best Music Documentary award!
The documentary is the fourth one the group has released and is an adaptation of their docu-series, Break The Silence. Directed by Park Jun Soo and released in September 2020, Break the Silence: The Movie takes us on and behind the scenes of their 2018-19 world tour, the Love Yourself World Tour. The 90 minute documentary encompassed footage taken over the course of 14 months and previously released on Weverse as Break The Silence.
It was released on September 9 in cinemas in select countries. The other documentaries the group has released are their first documentary, Burn the Stage: The Movie (2018), Love Yourself in Seoul and Bring the Soul: The Movie (2019).
Break the Silence: The Movie will be judged against a wide range of documentaries: Ariana Grande‘s Excuse Me, I Love You, The Notorious B.I.G.‘s Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell, Billie Eilish‘s The World’s a Little Blurry, Demi Lovato‘s Dancing With the Devil, Shawn Mendes‘ In Wonder, Taylor Swift‘s Miss Americana, The Bee Gees‘ How Can You Mend a Broken Heart, Tina Turner‘s Tina and the documentary about Britney Spears‘ legal battle against her father’s conservatorship, The New York Times Presents: Framing Britney Spears.
The 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards will air live from the Palladium in Los Angeles on May 16 at 9PM EST/May 17 at 10AM KST.
