Is Producer Pdogg Richer Than BTS? Here’s How Much Money He Makes
BigHit Music producer Pdogg has been with BTS since the start, making music that would skyrocket the group to stardom — and blow up his own bank account.
In a new interview, Pdogg opened up about his career and relationship with BTS. He joined BigHit Music, then BigHit Entertainment, in 2007, six years before BTS’s debut. Prior to BTS’s formation, Pdogg composed studio album tracks for 8Eight, a co-ed group, and soloist Lim Jeong Hee (also known as J-Lim).
At Chairman Bang Si Hyuk‘s request, Pdogg became BTS’s main producer. He produced five of the nine tracks of BTS’s debut album, 2 Cool 4 Skool: the title track “No More Dream,” “We Are Bulletproof Pt. 2,” “Skit: Circle Room Talk,” “Outro: Circle Room Cypher,” and “길” (Gil / Path).
Since then, Pdogg has been with BTS every step of the way, growing in fame alongside them. He is now one of the most sought after and highest-paid producers in South Korea, surpassing the earnings of top executives at LG, Samsung, and Hyundai.
In 2021 alone, Pdogg earned ₩40.07 billion won, approximately $34.29 million USD. As for BTS, the group’s net worth is reported to be $100 million USD in 2022.
