BTS Changed The Setlist For Their Home Turf Concert — Here’s Why
In their latest behind the scenes video of their PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE in Seoul concerts, the BTS members explained some of the unique differences they made for their concert in their home country.
Performing in Seoul for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began, the sentimental show marked an important moment for BTS.
J-Hope revealed they altering it to not only include some meaningful songs to ARMY, but also for the BTS members themselves.
The first obvious choice of the song “HOME” was revealed by Suga. Literally returning home to the Olympic Stadium and metaphorically returning home to ARMY, the song was an easy choice.
This is our home ground. Olympic Stadium, our home ground.
— Suga
Next, J-Hope shared their choice for including “Interlude : Wings.” A song about overcoming hard times, forgetting past struggles, and moving forward optimistically suited the new beginning.
Initially performed live at the Wings Tour in 2017, the song was brought back to the Love Yourself: Speak Yourself Tour in 2019. Making another return to Permission to Dance on Stage in 2022, the uplifting song is fun and inspiring for both BTS and ARMY.
Now I know I’m breaking up with regretting with age (Break up)
I made a decision, I will have unconditional trust
It’s time to be brave, I’m not afraid
Because I believe I’m different from what I was
I won’t cry on my path, I won’t hang my head low
That is the sky and I’ll be flying there, fly— J-Hope, “Outro : Wings”
With both of these meaningful songs on the setlist, ARMY and BTS are guaranteed to have a blast at the concert!
