BTS Recognized by Recording Industry Association of America for First Platinum Single & First Gold Album
As of November 9, 2018, BTS’s album “Love Yourself: Answer” went certified Gold in the album category, meaning they sold half a million units.
They are the first Korean artist to be certified Gold in the album category by the RIAA!
The track “Mic Drop” was recognized also as their first single to go platinum, meaning they recorded 1 million units.
The song originally went Gold in February 2018, their first song to be recorded Gold by the RIAA.
This record makes BTS the first Korean group to have a single go Platinum in the U.S.A.

The RIAA recognized the single “Idol” was also certified as Gold, with 500,000 certified units recorded as well!
This is their fourth single to be certified gold along with “Fake Love” and “DNA”, making BTS the most decorated Korean artist in the RIAA system.
