Naturally, ARMYs were curious to see what countries would be showing the film. They were pleasantly surprised to see Israel was excluded.

Since October 2023, the death toll in the Gaza Strip has reportedly surpassed 43,061 people, including 16,765 children, according to Al Jazeera, while 101,223 people have been injured due to Israeli attacks. More than 10,000 are missing, and Palestinians in Gaza are struggling to survive as they are starving, displaced, and lost homes, family, and friends.

Additionally, Israel is considered an “apartheid state” due to its illegal occupation and administration of the Palestinian territories. So, some netizens consider it unethical for HYBE to release any of its artists’ documentaries in Israel, especially during the ongoing war against Palestine.

Israel’s policies and actions in its ongoing occupation and administration of the Palestinian territories have drawn accusations that it is committing the crime of apartheid. Leading Palestinian, Israeli and international human rights groups have said that the totality and severity of the human rights violations against the Palestinians residing in the occupied territories, and by some in Israel proper, amount to the crime against humanity of apartheid. Israel and some of its Western allies have rejected the accusation, with the former often labeling the charge antisemitic.

Previously, ARMYs demanded HYBE cancel screenings of Jungkook and Suga’s respective documentary screenings in Israel. HYBE ignored ARMYs’ requests at the time. Now, they feel it’s a small win that RM’s is not being screened in Israel.

Some ARMYs were surprised to see Lebanon included. Like Palestine, Lebanon is under attack by Israel currently. More than 77 people recently were killed due to Israeli air strikes in Lebanon.

Still, some ARMYs are continuing to boycott due to HYBE’s ties to Zionism, as HYBE America CEO Scooter Braun remains in a position of power.
