On this day, some of the festival’s top executives held a press conference at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss the 29th Busan International Film Festival and confirmed that RM’s documentary, RM: Right People, Wrong Places, will be screened at the festival for audiences.

Programmer Kang So Won, who selected the documentary for the festival, admitted that RM: Right People, Wrong Places differed from the usual Korean documentaries. Though it was submitted under the “Wide Angle” category, the festival decided to screen it in the “Open Cinema” section instead. The “Wide Angle” section usually features short films, documentaries, animations, and experimental movies from around the world, whereas “Open Cinema” features new kinds of projects that strike a balance between popular appeal and artistic quality.

This will be the second time a documentary is screened in a large cinema. We wanted to showcase a variety of films and believe this one will be enjoyable not only for fans but also for general audiences.

— Kang So Won

RM’s documentary, which will show his solo album production and personal records from the eight months before his military enlistment, will be screened at the Outdoor Theater of the Busan Cinema Center, the festival’s largest screening venue.
